With over 30 years experience, Dr. Cetlin provides psychotherapy, supportive counseling,  evaluation, consultation,  wellness education, and life guidance in a warm, friendly and compassionate manner to adults, teens, children, and families.

Her focus is on guiding clients to identify their strengths, build self confidence, find new understanding and insight,  learn new coping skills to overcome their life challenges and empowering them to be the best they can be.   Clients often seek help for stress, anxiety, panic disorder, depression, trauma and  PTSD,  learning and behavioral difficulty, ADD or ADHD, developmental issues, relationship conflicts, loss & grief, life transitions, parenting challenges, health & medical concerns, physical pain, weight loss, preparing for bariatric surgery and adjusting to post surgery challenges, pregnancy and new parenthood, infertility, pregnancy & infant loss and Asperger's Disorder and PDD.

Her therapy approach is individualized and may include cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal,  supportive, mind/body techniques, mindfulness meditation* and play therapy for younger clients. She is trained in the energy techniques of EFT and TFT (Emotional Freedom and Thought Field Therapies).  She has extensive experience helping clients learn meditation techniques, including mindfulness meditation*, as well as relaxation and visualization techniques.  She is a certified instructor in Medical Qi Gong, a movement practice beneficial for emotional and physical well being.

*Mindfulness meditation is a powerful therapeutic tool that can help make the mind more spacious, perceptive, and free. By increasing the capacity for clients to pay attention to the workings of their own minds, mindfulness helps clients become aware of their patterns and habits which are causing them stress and discomfort.  With mindfulness training, clients can learn how to pause before reacting.  By cultivating this kind of attention, clients end up feeling more satisfied with each moment of their experience.  When clients see their experiences as flowing rather than stuck, they can feel less isolated and anxious, less caught in judgment and adversity, and more open to the unfolding of the truth of their lives with greater joy.

In addition to the above offerings, Dr.Cetlin also helps clients who are interested in exploring the role of spirituality in the enhancement of their psychological well being and health,  as well as learning from wisdom and religious traditions to aid in their understanding of their own health and healing.

Dr. Cetlin leads regular meditation groups and workshops in her volunteer capacity as director of a community resource for spirituality, wellness and healing, The Tiferet Center of Temple Israel.
